Wound Care in the Philippines: Multi-Specialty Collaboration

Dr. Chinkin Coruña started the 2025 academic year with a lecture on Wound Care for "Vascular Journey" organized by the Philippine Society of Vascular Medicine in Bacolod City.

“Collaboration with our dear cardiologists is vital for wounds to heal among patients with heart and vessel problems. Without oxygen to nourish cells in the body, recovery is limited.” Wound care may be a challenging task to undertake, but there is expertise in Western Visayas provided by Dr. Coruña. Education and developing skills in detecting and treating non-healing ulcers are important in helping patients and their relatives get back on their feet.

Together with Drs. Francisco Maleza, Jr., Anthony Gebusion, Ana Ma. Nanette Arriola, Greggy Panga, Jatter Angelo Duran, Ramayana Diaz-Garcia, Jasmin Melissa Bernardo, Ma. Barbra Destajo, Rosella Arellano, Ed Gabitoya, Roselyn Cataylo, Nestor Subong Jr., Neil Wayne Salces, and Marlon Manicad, the faculty are grateful for the active participation and advocacy of its audience!
