Wound Care in Bacolod City Featured in National Convention

Wounds that do not heal are a great source of stress for patients and their family. They may drain finances and cause psychosocial tension. Dr. Chinkin Coruña delivered his lecture, “PTT-6 for Challenging Wounds” during the combined POWCDLS 4th Annual Convention and Wound Care Nurses Society of the Philippines 1st Annual Convention in Ortigas last September 7, 2024. The theme of this year’s meeting was Strengthening Partnerships for the Advancement of Wound Care, a topic he advocates to various student generations across the country. Dr. Chinkin provided expertise on how he treats wounds that do not heal even with the best appliances available. He gave valuable insights for the right attitude, techniques, and documentation in order to be successful in treating this relevant medical problem. He delivered updates on the burden of lower extremity wounds in Negros Island as the sole faculty representing Western Visayas to an audience of allied health personnel from all over the Philippines. Bacolod City and Negros Island have a profound role in wound care education for the country, and the Asia Pacific region, represented by international delegates and industry partners in attendance.
